Ruth usually looks for any cans or trash to pick up and bring to me. However, on THIS day, she 'found' stuff that didn't belong on the side of the hill, went and got it, on her own initiative, to bring to me. All to earn my special praise of "Good retriever dog, Ruth!" Indeed she is.
