  1. Jessi,

This was SUCH A MEMORABLE TRIP to Iowa! And now, AFTER we left and had that hard conversation with Nate and his staff (this is the same Nate that wrote the Testimony Letter) about sticking with KMODT, Nate and his staff have totally revamped their business model. Now, they use the PATT, the Mannerly Puppy, the FC, the TS AND the RC material to train their new students.

Did you know Nate and Fran (the black Lab bred by Deb Kidwell, author of the FC articles, Weeks 1-6, 'KMODT WHY it Works' as well as the author of the 'Battle of the Dumbbell' & Deb is Ruth's breeder, too) are entered in Sept HRC Hunt Tests? Nate has never competed with any of his dogs before our trip to Iowa in 23, this is a first effort for him. I bet he and Fran rock their Hunt Tests and come home with ribbons, title, and many wonderful accolades.

We taught them well, didn't we, Jessi?

  2. What a lovely trip down this Memory Lane. Class, you will NOT be doing 'Force to a Pile' with your dogs in the RC. That 'Force to a Pile' is for dogs learning the field work. No, the dog does NOT need to be a retriever to do field work as I had GSD's in MD doing the field work as a way to expend physical and mental energy. You WILL be doing RoF (Retrieve on Flat) on a 40' line as that is one of your RC Final EXAMS.

What did you recognize as familiar with what I have taught you thus far? What was different from what I am teaching you right now?

    Fascinating, isn't it?

BTW, I handled Fran as a 14-week-old puppy when I did the PATT in Tennessee for another one of Deb's litters. And prior to this video, with me handling her after Jessi had worked her already (see 1st video, this was the first time I had handled Fran that weekend. And Fran is a VERY soft dog.

    Great memories!!!

  3. The dEC is the same- no hesitation allowed on the dog’s part. I’m seeing a little TS in the moving sit… ☺️
